1 Who we are & scope

Publisher: HJ Apps (“we,” “us,” “our”). The name shown here should match the legal entity on your Apple Developer and Google Play developer accounts.

Product: Tai Chi Walking — a fitness / wellness app offering guided movement, breathing, and related educational content. The App is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.

This Policy applies to:

  • The Tai Chi Walking mobile application distributed on the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android); and
  • Our public website at taichiwalking.app (including pages such as the contact form), to the extent those pages collect information.

Platform operators (Apple and Google) process certain information independently when you use their stores, devices, and OS features. Their practices are governed by their own policies.

2 Information we collect

Depending on how you use the App, your device settings, and which features and SDKs are enabled in the build you install, we may collect or receive the categories below. Not every category will apply to every user.

Identifiers & account-related data

  • App Store / Play Store identifiers tied to purchases or subscription status (typically processed by Apple/Google; we may receive limited transactional or entitlement signals through our subscription tooling).
  • Device identifiers that SDKs commonly use for analytics, crash reporting, fraud prevention, or advertising (where applicable), such as advertising IDs (if enabled), device model, OS version, and app version.
  • Support communications you send us (for example, email to taichiwalking.app@gmail.com or messages via our website contact form), including your email address and the content of your message.

Usage & diagnostics

  • App usage events (for example, screens viewed, feature usage, session length) if analytics is enabled.
  • Crash logs & performance diagnostics if crash reporting is enabled.
  • Log / technical data such as IP address, timestamps, and error messages, which may be collected by us or our service providers when the App or our infrastructure communicates over the internet.

Purchases & subscriptions

  • Subscription status, product IDs, renewal events, and trial state as reported by Apple/Google and/or our subscription management provider. We do not receive your full payment card number; payments are processed by Apple or Google.

Information you provide in the App

  • Profile or preference information you enter (for example, goals, program selections, or similar). Some of this may be stored locally on your device and/or synced depending on app implementation.

Website visitors

  • If you use taichiwalking.app/contact.html, we receive the information you submit (for example, name, email, message content).
  • Standard web logs and similar technical data may be collected by hosting or form providers.

3 How we collect information

  • Directly from you when you contact us, submit forms, or enter information in the App.
  • Automatically when you use the App, through software development kits (SDKs) and platform services (for example, analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration).
  • From app stores and payment processors (Apple and Google) regarding purchases and subscription status, and from subscription management services (for example, RevenueCat) where used.

4 Why we use information

We use information for purposes such as:

  • Providing, operating, maintaining, and improving the App and website;
  • Processing and validating subscriptions and entitlements, and preventing fraud or abuse;
  • Understanding usage and reliability (analytics and diagnostics), where enabled;
  • Communicating with you about support requests;
  • Sending transactional or service-related messages (and push notifications, if enabled and permitted);
  • Complying with law, responding to lawful requests, and enforcing our Terms of Use;
  • Protecting the security and integrity of our services.

5 Legal bases (summary)

Where applicable privacy laws require a “legal basis,” we rely on one or more of the following, depending on context:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the App and features you request (including subscription access).
  • Legitimate interests — to secure our services, understand reliability and usage, improve the product, and respond to inquiries, balanced against your rights.
  • Consent — where required for optional processing (for example, certain analytics or marketing communications, if offered), or for notifications where the platform requires consent.
  • Legal obligation — where we must process information to comply with the law.

6 Third-party services & links

We may use service providers that process information on our behalf. Examples commonly used in apps like ours include (actual providers depend on your implementation—confirm in your codebase):

Advertising. If you integrate ad SDKs, those partners may collect identifiers and usage data under their policies. If you do not integrate advertising SDKs in production, ensure your store disclosures reflect “no ads SDK” consistently. If ads are used, list the ad network(s) here and link their privacy policies.

Our website or App may link to third-party sites; we are not responsible for their practices.

7 Payments & subscriptions (Apple & Google)

  • iOS: Purchases are processed by Apple via Apple In‑App Purchase. Apple provides us limited purchase/entitlement information needed to unlock features.
  • Android: Purchases are processed by Google Play via Google Play Billing. Google provides us limited purchase/entitlement information needed to unlock features.
  • We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple or Google.
  • Subscription management, cancellation, refunds, and billing disputes are primarily handled under Apple’s or Google’s rules and tools, except where we are required to assist.

8 Analytics & crash reporting

If enabled in your build, we may use analytics and crash reporting tools (for example, Firebase Analytics and/or Firebase Crashlytics) to understand usage trends, diagnose crashes, and improve stability. These tools may collect device and app-related data as described in the provider’s documentation.

You may have platform controls that limit certain tracking or analytics (for example, device settings on iOS/Android). Which Firebase (or similar) products run in production should be reflected consistently in this Policy and in your App Store / Google Play data disclosures.

9 Push notifications

If the App supports push notifications, we may send messages related to the service (for example, reminders or updates) where permitted. Push delivery typically uses platform services (for example, Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging). You can disable notifications in your device settings.

If your production app does not use push notifications, this section should be revised to state that clearly in your published Policy.

10 Health data (HealthKit / Health Connect)

Unless a future version explicitly requests access, we do not intend to read or write Apple Health (HealthKit) or Health Connect data as part of Tai Chi Walking. The App is for general wellness and educational movement content, not medical monitoring.

If you later add HealthKit, Health Connect, or similar integrations, you must update this Policy and obtain platform-required permissions and disclosures.

11 Children’s privacy

Tai Chi Walking is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required by applicable law in your region) for targeted marketing or profiling.

If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it, subject to legal retention requirements.

Your App Store age rating and Google Play content rating should accurately reflect app content and data practices.

12 Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the service, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements.

Some information may be retained longer where required by law or where stored by third parties (for example, Apple/Google purchase records) outside our direct control.

13 Sharing

We may share information with:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf (hosting, analytics, crash reporting, subscription management, email delivery, customer support tooling);
  • Platform providers (Apple, Google) as necessary to operate distribution, payments, and platform features;
  • Authorities if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not share personal information with third parties for their independent marketing unless we disclose otherwise and, where required, obtain consent.

14 Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

15 International users

We may process information in countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards; details may depend on your jurisdiction.

16 Your choices & rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing, or to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. To exercise rights, contact us at taichiwalking.app@gmail.com or via taichiwalking.app/contact.html.

In-app “delete” / reset

If the App offers a reset or “delete my data” feature, it may clear locally stored preferences or progress and may sign you out of certain SDK sessions. It does not delete your Apple or Google purchase history; those records are retained by Apple/Google under their policies.

Subscriptions

Canceling a subscription is done through your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the App does not automatically cancel a subscription.

17 Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at taichiwalking.app/privacy-policy.html and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice as required by law or platform rules.
